Mary Poppins

Wow...when I was a little girl I wished so bad that I could have a "Mary Poppins". Yes...someone to clean my room by snapping and singing. Someone to take me on a "jolly (h)olliday" with Bert. Pretty much a magical nanny/housekeeper. I also wish I had her as an adult!
So my reality is...I am Mary Poppins...just not so magical....they didnt have a messy 2 year old in that movie that just learned to get potty trained and pee'd all over the toilet and the floor on a daily basis. Nor did they have a 4 year old that said "I dont like you mom", when he didnt get his way. Or a 4 month old that constantly wanted to be held. What ever Mary...lets see you deal with that! Oh...and Mary Poppins NEVER made dinner! She didnt have other side jobs...she didnt have nearly all the same events that moms now days have for their family's.
But you know what...I love my 3 monkeys...well the boys are monkeys...Kingsley is a Princess...no matter what! I love the way they talk, the way they think...the way the boys tell me they love me every day 20 times a day...not kidding...they do. And Kingsley's sweet flirty smile that makes my heart melt every time. I LOVE to read to them before bed. I love watching their faces as I do. I love it when Anchor and Race get along...I feel that I am doing something right...and being a mother...I always feel that I am doing something wrong half the time. So unlike Mary Poppins...I get to stay with my kids...I get to love them for...well Eternity...so they are stuck with me...but I know I am gonna be a cool mom(I'll keep telling myself that...Anchor already gets emberassed when Ric & I dance). Next...my thought on Barbie...she doesnt have anything on me!!

Don't you love how life lets us have so many experiences -- and these isn't a right or wrong way to really aproach it, just do your best. I personally think we won't be graded completely on the outcome, but on the best we that we can do. You're doing awesome by the way. Love Your Show!

am glad to see you are blogging now. I think Mary Poppins is a little vain personally. I also think it is so much easier to take care of just children, especially other people's children. Doesn't she get Sunday's off? Hmmm however, she also doesn't have to love of a Mother. That is given to us so we won't give up.
enjoy you loving boys! I know I love my boy and girls. Lucas tells me he loves me a hundred bunches. That makes me happy.

"Step in time, step in time!" I do sweep my house like they do in the movie when they're all dancing on the roof tops! I find I get a lot more done when the kids and I spin eachother around with the kitchen broom. It's like magic! Oh, I also wear my white high heels when sweeping and dancing.

A spoonful of sugar DOES make the medicine go down, so does a pint of Ben & Jerry's! Loved your Mary Poppins piece. Do you remember the book I used to read to you called the Country Bunny? Remember, the mom bunny had so much to do so she assigned her babes chores. Assign Anchor and Race 'chores'. Kingsley's 'chore' is to giggle and smile and just look cute while the boys clean. Always remember that there IS magic! It's in the everyday moments of life. In hindsight you will see how precious the mundane things of life are, even the 'bumps and bruises'. You're an exceptionally wonderful mom and I am so proud of you! Love, Mom
